Through January 5, 2020: Holiday Lights at Cheekwood
You don’t want to miss your chance to take part in the cherished tradition of Cheekwood’s Holiday LIGHTS! Now through January 5, bring the whole family to see one million lights illuminate the beautiful gardens. Through January 11, 2020: Marshmallow Hikes
Yes, it really is as great as it sounds! Get your family out of the house and head to Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary for a hike through the woods, followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows. Through January 19, 2020: Hamilton at Tennessee Performing Arts Center
Experience the theatrical phenomenon of Hamilton, through January 19, at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. Immerse yourself in the story of one of America’s Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton, through showstopping performances that tell the wonderful story of America. If you’re looking to escape the cold, consider seeing one of the Opry at The Ryman concerts, which are held every Friday and Saturday this month! Through January 25, 2020: Dance Lessons at Plaza Mariachi
Dance the night away with free salsa lessons at Plaza Mariachi every Saturday night through January! Every Tuesday through January, learn about contemporary art with 21c Museum Hotel’s Tipsy Tours. January 3, 2020: First Friday Art Scene at The Visitor Center
The first Friday each month, Visit Franklin presents an evening to celebrate work from local artists! January 4, 2020: Resolution Run
Start your resolutions on the right track this year by joining Fleet Feet Nashville for its annual Resolution Run. Whether you’re looking to get back into running, or you’re training for an upcoming marathon, this easy-paced three-mile run/walk will be a perfect way to get yourself on track for the new year. After the run/walk, gather back at the store for snacks, drinks and the chance to mingle with fellow Nashville runners. Jan 6: Daryl Davis at Montgomery Bell Academy (MBA)
The Independent Schools of the Nashville Area (ISNA) welcome Daryl Davis for a public talk on January 6 at 7 p.m. at MBA. Davis has a powerful message of inclusion and reconciliation that will strengthen the Nashville community. Davis is a graduate of Howard University with a degree in jazz and has worked with everyone from Elvis Presley to Jerry Lee Lewis. At one of his many performances, he met a KKK member who was shocked and awed by the ability of an African American man to play music with such skill. That interaction inspired Davis to become the first black author to travel the country interviewing KKK leaders and members, all detailed in his book, Klan-destine Relationships: A Black Man’s Odyssey in the Ku Klux Klan. January 7, 2020: Nashville Predators vs. Boston Bruins
Breakout your favorite Predators gear (and your catfish) for the Preds against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, January 7. January 7, 2020: Drumline Live at Nashville Symphony
The international sensation, Drumline, returns to the Nashville Symphony for one night only on January 7. Become immersed in the explosive energy of an HBCU marching band with a mix of original compositions and new favorites. The versatile cast will have you up on your feet and dancing the night away! January 16, 2020: Brewing Up Business with the Nashville LGBT Chamber
Join the Nashville LGBT Chamber for its first 2020 Brewing Up Business event! January 21, 2020: Nashville MLK Day
Join the Nashville community in honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for this national day of community service, which is grounded in the teachings of nonviolence and social justice taught by Dr. King. January 24 – 26, 2020: Nashville Flea Market
Dive into the first Nashville Flea Market weekend of the year, from January 24 to January 26, to explore various local artisan goods, as well as antique and unique finds. Spend the day roaming the fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Grab the whole family (or your antique-loving friend) to explore all the wonderful new finds and craftsmanship this year.

January 31 – February 2, 2020: Antiques and Garden Show
This event, located in Music City, has a lineup of designers, gardeners and architects that are coming in from around the world. In addition to lectures, there will be over 150 antique dealers and beautiful gardens that attendees will get to enjoy. Each day holds new experiences such as book signings, bourbon parties, shopping and music. All proceeds benefit two charities in the southern community: Cheekwood Estate and the charities of Economic Club of Nashville.
